The facilitation of workshops and meetings led to a signed social compact between informal community structures and municipal officials. Subsequent establishment of a Project Steering Committee (PSC) to oversee, communicate and manage informal settlement upgrading.
Municipal training
The facilitated training of municipal officials in a variety of skills and procedures related to people-centred informal settlement upgrading to kickstart new ideas, projects and approaches.
Technical upskilling
Upskilling of community members and Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP) participants to provide a range of vital socio-technical services that add people-driven value to stalled and slow-moving informal settlement upgrading initiatives.
